Leadership Assessment Test Guidelines

This guideline explains how the Leadership Assessment Test presented in the sources works. It will help test-takers understand how they are being measured.

Purpose of the Assessment

  • The Leadership Assessment Test helps C-level executives and aspiring leaders evaluate their leadership skills in the context of Industry 4.0, global crises, and the rise of AI.

  • The test is specifically designed for mid- to high-level banking professionals.

Test Structure

  • The test has 16 questions divided into five sections.

  • Each section focuses on a different aspect of leadership, such as decision-making, communication, people management, and self-awareness.

Answering the Questions

  • Test-takers should choose the response that best reflects their typical approach.

  • There are no right or wrong answers.

Profile Interpretation

1. Visionary Leader: Strategic, innovation-driven, and exceptional at inspiring teams and stakeholders while navigating challenges effectively.

2. Transformational Leader: Balances strategic thinking and operational execution, demonstrating strong adaptability and a focus on team growth.

3. Situational Leader: Effective in responding to challenges and operational needs but requires deeper focus on long-term vision and change leadership.

4. Emerging Leader: Demonstrates potential in specific areas but needs to further develop core leadership skills to effectively manage teams and drive organizational success.

5. Developing Leader: Requires significant development across all leadership dimensions to effectively contribute to the team and organization. Recommend personalized coaching and development plans.

  • Note: It’s important to note that the assessment is just one tool for leadership development. It should be used in conjunction with other methods, such as feedback, mentoring, and training, to create a holistic approach to leadership growth.

Here are some things that the audience can do with the assessment:

  • Identify Strengths and Weaknesses: By analyzing their scores in each category, test-takers can identify their leadership strengths and areas where they need further development. This self-awareness is crucial for personal growth and professional advancement. For example, someone might score high in Strategic Thinking but lower in People Management. This indicates a need to focus on improving their people management skills.

  • Understand Their Leadership Profile: Based on their total score, participants are assigned to a leadership profile. This profile provides insights into their overall leadership style and helps them understand their potential impact on their team and organization. For instance, being categorized as a ‘Transformational Leader’ suggests that the individual is adept at balancing strategic thinking with practical execution.

  • Develop Targeted Development Plans: The assessment results can be used to create personalized development plans. Focusing on areas where they scored lower can enable individuals to acquire new skills and knowledge to enhance their leadership effectiveness.

  • Benchmark Against Others: While there are no right or wrong answers, the assessment can help individuals see how they compare to others in similar roles or aspiring to similar positions. This benchmark provides a point of reference for their current leadership capabilities.

  • Track Progress Over Time: Individuals can retake the assessment periodically to measure their progress and see the impact of their development efforts. This ongoing evaluation supports continuous improvement and ensures they are on track to achieve their leadership goals.

  • Facilitate Coaching Conversations: The assessment results can be used as a starting point for coaching conversations with mentors or supervisors. Discussing the results and identifying specific development actions can help individuals accelerate their leadership journey.

This course was a great match for my learning goals; however, I would like to gain further insight into a couple of key areas. Given the shift in people’s behavior towards becoming more complex and less respectful of traditional hierarchies, how can leaders adapt their approach to effectively manage and engage teams while still maintaining respect, accountability, and collaboration?

Additionally, with the new generation being more focused on objective-driven work and exhibiting tendencies to switch jobs frequently, what strategies can leaders use to effectively manage and retain this demographic while ensuring their motivation and engagement align with organizational goals?

Questions were too generic. I expected a few tricky questions. The problem description in Scenario analysis section, was incomplete.
