The Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) hosted a seminar titled “Empowering Women in Finance: Unveiling Barriers to Participation in Bangladesh’s Capital Market” on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the importance of women’s participation in the capital market and to identify the barriers that hinder their participation.
The keynote speaker for the seminar was Ms. Kashfiya Sharmin, Assistant Professor at BIBM. In her presentation, Ms. Sharmin discussed the various factors that contribute to the underrepresentation of women in the capital market, including lack of financial literacy, cultural barriers, and limited access to investment opportunities.

The seminar also featured a panel discussion with three distinguished speakers:
